7th Sea: Land of 1000 Nations TTRPG

This tabletop role-playing game features Indigenous peoples in an alternative, magical, world. Research was a focus, balanced against bright, evocative and active illustrations. Coming from a comics background, this more painterly style was something newer for me and I took a lot of reference photos to ensure anatomical realism. Taken all together, this type of work occasionally is critiqued as ‘not traditionally Indigenous-looking’ - a great starting point for conversations about Indigenous Futurisms, contemporary Indigenous representation and despectralization.
